Hello! Thanks to my friend Holly you can find now beautiful blu-ray quality screen captures of Deborah’s part in her most recent movie “Catch .44″. Check it:
Here’s a first look at the trailer for Deborah Ann Woll’s upcoming film Catch .44. The suspense thriller will be in theaters on December 9 and will be available on Blu-ray and DVD on December 20.
Oscar winner Forest Whitaker, Bruce Willis and Malin Akerman lead an all-star cast in this suspense thriller where everyone has an agenda… and a Magnum to back it up! For Tes (Akerman) and her two cohorts Kara (Nikki Reed, the “Twilight” franchise) and Tara (Deborah Ann Woll, “True Blood”), the job sounded simple enough: intercept a double-cross drug shipment for their crime boss Mel (Willis) at an isolated diner. But when an unstoppable chain of events unfolds, everyone soon realizes no one is who they seem and the job may be something other than eliminating the competition. What started as simple instructions has now turned into a deadly cat-and-mouse game – with large guns pointed at everyone.
Yesterday the first pictures of Catch .44 was finally released! Also, the Blu-Ray release was also announced:
In an early announcement to retailers, Starz/Anchor Bay is working on ‘Catch .44′ for Blu-ray on December 20.
In the tradition of ‘Pulp Fiction,’ ‘Traffic’ and ‘Go,’ and from the producers of ‘Machete’ and ’16 Blocks,’ Oscar® winner Forest Whitaker (‘The Last King of Scotland,’ “Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior”), Bruce Willis (the ‘Die Hard’ films, ‘Red,’ ‘The Expendables’) and Malin Akerman (‘Watchmen,’ ‘The Proposal,’ ‘Couples Retreat’) lead an all-star cast in this suspense thriller where everyone has an agenda…and a Magnum to back it up!
The Blu-ray will feature 1080p video, a Dolby TrueHD 5.1 soundtrack, and a filmmakers’ commentary.
Suggested list price for the Blu-ray is $29.99.
Cast: Forest Whitaker, Bruce Willis, Malin Akerman, Nikki Reed, Deborah Ann Woll
Director: Aaron Harvey
Summary: The story focuses on three women being thrust into an extraordinary situation involving a psychopathic hitman, a grizzled trucker and a delusional line cook.
Analysis: Oddly little is known about this indie crime comedy aside from the three lead female roles have gone through more than a couple of rounds of casting musical chairs. The likes of Maggie Grace, Kate Mara, Laura Ramsey, Sarah Roemer, Lizzy Caplan and Lauren German were all attached at one point or another before the final trio of Malin Akerman (“Watchmen”), Nikki Reed (“Twilight”) and Deborah Ann Woll (“True Blood”) were settled on.
Bruce Willis, Forest Whitaker, Michael Rosenbaum and Brad Dourif also star with Willis as a crime boss behind everything that happens and Whitaker as a dangerously unstable assassin. Aaron Harvey, who last directed the little seen “The Evil Woods”, helms the project which was shot in Louisiana this past summer.
More than seventeen producers are credited on this which seems a little drastic for such a relatively modest revenge meets exploitation flick. With fewer action films offering leading roles to women these days though (let alone having multiple lead female roles), best to enjoy them where you can.
The indie drama Catch .44 has added two actresses transitioning from sultry vampire roles. Twilight Saga’s Nikki Reed and True Blood’s Deborah Ann Woll have signed on opposite Bruce Willis, Malin Ackerman and Forest Whitaker in the Aaron Harvey-directed thriller about three gorgeous female assassins sent on a job that might be their last.
The film is set for a July 8 start in Louisiana, and Sierra Pictures is aboard to handle international sales. Harvey wrote the script and the pic is co-production between Emmett/Furls Films and Annapurna Productions, with Randall Emmett, Megan Ellison and Michael Benaroya producing and George Furla, Curtis Jackson and Ted Schipper exec producers.
