Collider did an interview with Eric Ladin, Deborah’s co-star in Highland Park. Here’s what he said about the movie:
What is Highland Park?
LADIN: That is an indie feature with a neat cast of a lot of great actors. It’s essentially about a group of six individuals who have a tradition of splitting lottery tickets, in a little town in Detroit, called Highland Park, which is a very low-income town. After years and years and years of downtrodden luck, they finally win the lottery. It’s the journey that they go on, as they find out and have to deal with splitting the money and figure out what they’re going to spend it on. It’s a neat little film. I actually haven’t gotten the chance to see all of it, so I’m interested to see it.
Who are you playing in it?
LADIN: I play a bus driver for the local scheric-ladin-highland-park-image-02ool, who is a father. Deborah Ann Woll (True Blood) plays my wife, and we’ve recently separated, and we have a little boy and a little girl. He’s just one of those guys that continually makes the wrong decision or finds himself in a bad spot, but he absolutely doesn’t mean to cause any harm to anybody. He’s a really sweet guy. It was a really fun movie to be a part of.
Their characters never met on True Blood, but Michelle Forbes and Deborah Ann Woll will have the chance to act together in a new film, Highland Park, currently filming in Michigan. Highland Park tells the story of a group of high school educators who seek to improve their community and encourage civic pride through restoring the library.
Danny Glover leads the cast which also includes Billy Burke, Blake Clark and Kimberly Elise. Written and directed by Andrew Meieran, Highland Park will film simultaneously with a documentary tracing the 100 year history of Highland Park as well as chronicling the restoration efforts of the Library and capturing the stories of community leaders. Highland Park is set to debut in theaters next year.
